A Bumble BFF alternative that starts with a plan
Bumble BFF starts from profiles: you swipe, match and chat. forrealz! starts from a plan: someone posts what they want to do and others ask to join. Here is how the two compare, and when each one fits.

Bumble BFF applies the swipe-and-match format to friendship. You build a profile, browse other people, match, and chat to get to know each other before deciding to meet. It has a large user base, a familiar interface, and works in many countries.
forrealz! reverses the order. The unit is a plan, called a Drop: an activity, a venue, a time, a group size and an intent. Others see the plan first and ask to join. The person who posted decides who comes, and the meeting itself is arranged in the Drop, so there is no chat to work through first.
People who look for a Bumble BFF alternative often want a faster route from "interested" to "meeting", or a way to include groups, dates and existing friends in the same app.
What Bumble BFF does well
- A large pool of people, including in cities and countries where forrealz! has few plans yet
- A familiar swipe format that many people already know
- Room to get to know someone in chat before meeting
- Group and event features alongside one-to-one friendships
How forrealz! works
You post a Drop, for example "bouldering, Thursday 7pm, up to four people, new friends". Posting takes about a minute and is always free. People nearby send a Pick to ask in. You see each profile, what you have in common and their Trust Tier, and you approve or decline. An approved Pick becomes an Encounter, the confirmed meeting. If you do not have a plan of your own, you can Pick one that someone else posted.
The same Thursday, two ways
With Bumble BFF
Browse profiles, match with people who share your interests, chat to get to know them, then arrange a time and place together.
With forrealz!
Post "bouldering, Thursday 7pm, up to four, new friends". Approve the people who asked. Meet on Thursday.
Messaging, trust and safety
Some people like to chat before they meet, and Bumble BFF supports that. Others find it easier to skip straight to a plan. forrealz! has no open chat: an hour before the Encounter, Focus Mode opens with preset messages such as "I'm here" or "running 5 minutes late" and a live location, and that is all the messaging there is.
Friends, dates and the friends you already have
Bumble offers friendship and dating as separate products. On forrealz! both are intents you set per Drop, next to networking, activity partner, language exchange and spontaneous. Everyone sees the intent before they ask to join, so expectations are clear.
forrealz! also works for friends you already have. Add them with invite codes, put them in a Friend Circle, and invite the whole Circle to a Drop in one tap. Make it friends-only, or leave a seat open for someone new.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a friendship app without swiping?
forrealz! has no swipe deck. You post what you want to do, or join a plan someone nearby posted. The first thing you see about a person is the plan they are up for, not a stack of faces.
How is meeting on forrealz! different from matching on Bumble BFF?
On Bumble BFF a match comes first and the plan is worked out in chat. On forrealz! the plan comes first, with the what, where and when already in the Drop, so the only decision left is whether to approve someone.
Can I make sure only women join my plan?
You approve every Pick individually, so you always see who is asking before anyone is in. Premium adds a gender filter on top, so the Drop is only shown to who you choose.
Do I need a separate app for dating?
No. Bumble offers friendship and dating as separate products. On forrealz! both are intents you set per Drop, next to networking, activity partner, language exchange and spontaneous. Whoever asks to join has read it.
How does safety work on forrealz!?
Three ways. Nobody can post, join or invite without a photo check, and an optional ID check adds a stronger badge. There is no open chat, so there is no open message channel to misuse. And you can keep the exact venue hidden until you approve someone.
Is it free?
Free to start. Posting a Drop is always free, and your first 3 Picks are on us. After that, joining someone else's plan uses Sparks. Premium is available as a separate subscription with extra filters.
