The basics
What is forrealz!?
An app for finding something to do and people to do it with. You post a plan, other people ask to join, you approve who comes, and you meet in person. iOS and Android, English and German.
Is forrealz! a dating app?
Dating is one of six intents you can set on a plan, alongside new friends, activity partner, language exchange, networking and meeting other parents. It can be used for dating, it is just not the only thing it is for.
Who is forrealz! for?
Adults who want to do more than stay in and would rather not do it alone: people new to a city, expats, students, remote workers, the freshly single, parents looking for other parents.
Which cities is forrealz! available in?
The app works worldwide on iOS and Android. Berlin is where we launched actively, so that is where you will find the most happening nearby.
Is it free?
Free to start. Posting a Drop is always free, and your first 3 Picks are on us. After that, joining someone else's plan uses coins. Premium is available as a separate subscription with extra filters.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, forrealz! is 18+. The app can be used for dating and puts people in real-world meetings.
I am new in town or feeling lonely. How does forrealz! help?
It turns "I should go out more" into a specific plan on a specific evening. You post one thing you would like to do this week, and people nearby who want the same thing can join.
Why there is no chat
Why does forrealz! not have an open chat like other apps?
Open chat produces weeks of messaging that never becomes a meeting, and it is the channel scammers and fake profiles need. Removing it removes both, so every plan stays focused on an actual meeting.
How do people communicate before meeting if there is no chat?
An hour before the Encounter, Focus Mode opens. You and the other person can swap a few preset messages, like "I'm here" or "running 5 minutes late", and share your live location.
Can I message someone directly?
No. There is no direct messaging and no username search, so nobody can cold-contact you. Everything runs through a plan: you join one, or someone joins yours.
How do I add friends on forrealz!?
Have them invite you through a messenger, or just swap your personal invite codes. That makes it easy to connect with people you already know, while strangers cannot search for you or cold-contact you.
Account and data
How do I sign up?
Download the app and sign in with Google, Apple, email or your phone number, then a short onboarding: name, a few identity details, your intents, languages and location.
What information do I have to provide?
A name, your age, your intents, the languages you speak and roughly where you are. Everything else is optional and only shows what you have in common with someone.
Can I use forrealz! without giving my phone number?
Yes. Phone is one of four sign-in methods. Google, Apple and email all work without it.
How do I edit my profile?
Open your profile and tap edit. You can change your photos, bio, intents and every optional section at any time.
How do I delete my account?
Open your profile and choose "delete account". That removes your account and your data. There is also a <a href="/delete-me/">delete my data</a> page on this site.
How is my data protected?
Location is used to show you what is nearby, and your profile is only visible to people in the app. Details are in the <a href="/privacy/">privacy policy</a>.
Safety
How does forrealz! keep me safe?
You approve every request individually, there is no open chat, every profile carries a visible Trust Tier, photo verification is required before every Drop, Pick or invitation, you check in with each other at the meeting, and meetings happen in public venues.
What is the reputation system and how is it built?
Every profile has a Trust Tier: Newcomer, Regular, Anchor, Icon. It rises when you show up and complete meetings, and falls when you cancel or fail to appear.
Can I block or report someone?
Yes, both from any profile, and Drops can be reported too. A block removes that person from your discovery, your friends list and invitations in both directions.
Who can see my profile and my Drops?
People near you who are browsing plans can see a Drop you post publicly. If you mark a Drop as friends-only, only your friends see it.
Does everyone see exactly where a Drop is before I approve them?
That is your choice for each Drop. Show the exact venue right away, or keep it fuzzy so only the general area shows until you approve someone, then the exact venue appears. An extra layer of safety, since nobody you have not approved knows exactly where you will be.
What happens after a meeting?
A short feedback step: how the venue was, and whether the other person was respectful. The answer feeds the Trust Tier.
Any tips for a safe first meeting?
Meet at a busy public venue, keep the first one short, tell someone where you are going, and make your own way there and back. Check the other person's Trust Tier first.
Devices, languages and notifications
Which languages does forrealz! support?
German and English. The app picks up your device language, and you can change it afterwards.
Why am I not seeing any Drops near me?
Usually one of three things: not many people are using forrealz! in your area yet, your filters are too narrow, or the app does not have your location.
How do I turn on notifications?
Allow notifications when the app asks, or enable them later in your phone's settings. On Android, battery optimisation can hold notifications back.
Is there a desktop or web version?
No. forrealz! is an iOS and Android app only.
